Privacy Policy
This Policy explains what information we collect on our platform, how we use it, who can see it, and what choices you have. We wrote it in plain language. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to this Policy and to our Terms and Conditions.
1. Who We Are
The B.L.U.E.P.R.I.N.T.S. Foundation ("the Foundation," "we," "us") is a nonprofit corporation organized in Wyoming. Solavian, Inc. provides the technology infrastructure for the platform and handles your information only to run it. This Policy covers the platform at theblueprintsfoundation.org, our app, and our contact form. It does not cover other websites we link to.
2. What We Collect
What you give us:
- Account information: your name, email address, and password. Your password is handled by our sign-in system and stored in protected form.
- Your work on the platform: assessment answers, quiz answers, reflections, daily practice entries, journal entries, prayer requests, and application commitments.
- Companion conversations: what you type to the AI Formation Companion and what it replies.
- Messages: what you send through our contact form, including your name, email, and message.
- Program information: your cohort, your institution, the lessons you complete, and your certificates.
- Payments: if you or your organization pays, a payment processor handles it. We do not store full card numbers.
What we collect automatically: technical information such as your device type, browser, IP address, and the pages you use, plus security and error logs. For contact form messages, we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address to prevent spam, not the address itself.
What your institution may give us: if you join through a church, school, or organization, it may give us your name, email, and cohort assignment.
Measurement results: the Transformation Index uses your self-assessment, a facilitator's observation, and your written reflections. We calculate scores from them, at the start of your program and again at 30, 90, and 180 days.
What you write here can reveal sensitive things, such as your faith, your family, your health, or painful experiences. You choose what to write. We treat all of it as sensitive.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To run your account and deliver lessons, your workbook, and your certificates.
- To measure formation progress with the Transformation Index.
- To power the AI Formation Companion.
- To keep the platform and its people safe, including the safety detection described in Section 6.
- To reply to you and to send account, program, and reminder emails.
- To give your institution aggregate results about its cohort, as shown in Section 4.
- To improve the platform and to report results to funders and partners, using aggregate or de-identified information only.
- To follow the law.
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell it.
4. Who Can See What
| Information | You | Your facilitator | Your institution's admin | The Foundation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Account basics | Yes | First name only | First name only | Yes |
| Assessment and quiz scores | Yes | Own cohort | Aggregate only | Yes |
| Facilitator observations | No | The facilitator who wrote them | Aggregate only | Yes |
| Reflections | Yes | No | No | No |
| Journals | Yes | No | No | No |
| Prayer requests | Yes | No | No | No |
| Companion conversations | Yes | Flagged only | No | Flagged only |
| Safety alert signal | Yes | Own cohort | No | Yes |
Institution reports are aggregate only, and we hide results for any group smaller than five people. If you use the platform on your own, without a cohort, no facilitator or institution sees anything about you.
People who maintain our systems can reach stored data only as needed to run, secure, and repair the platform, or when the law requires it.
5. The AI Formation Companion
The Companion and some other features are powered by a third-party AI provider (currently Anthropic). When you use them, the text you submit is sent to the provider so it can generate a response. Under the provider's commercial terms, content sent through our integration is not used to train its models. The Companion is not a pastor, a counselor, or a clinician, and its answers can be wrong. Please do not treat it as a replacement for a real person.
6. Safety and Crisis Detection
Some of what people write here is painful. To look out for you, we scan the text you submit for signs that you may be in danger. This covers reflections, daily practice entries, application commitments, and Companion conversations. The scan runs automatically when you submit. It does not run on drafts you have not saved.
- What you see: crisis resources appear on your screen right away.
- What others see: a signal that a concern was raised goes to your facilitator, if you are in a cohort, and to the Foundation. It is a signal, not the contents of your journal. If a Companion conversation is flagged, your facilitator or the Foundation may read that conversation.
- What happens next: a person decides, not a machine.
Detection is not perfect. It can miss things, and it can flag things that are not emergencies. The platform is not monitored around the clock. If you are in danger or in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911.
We may share information with emergency services or others if we believe someone is in serious, immediate danger, or if the law requires it.
7. Who We Share Information With
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only in these ways:
- Service providers. Companies that help us run the platform, such as our hosting, database and sign-in, email, video, AI, and payment providers. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
- Your institution. Only what Section 4 shows. An institution's own handling of its program records is governed by its own policies and its agreement with us.
- Safety and legal reasons. As described in Section 6, and when a law, court order, or lawful request requires it. Where we are allowed to, we will tell you first.
- A change in who runs the platform. If the Foundation or the platform is merged into or taken over by another organization, your information may move with it. That organization must honor this Policy.
- Aggregate or de-identified information. Information that cannot reasonably be tied back to you may be used in research and in reports to funders and partners.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar tools only to keep the platform working. They keep you signed in, remember which side of the site you use, and save your settings and progress. If you install our app, your device stores lessons and screens so the app loads quickly. We keep private content, such as your journal and prayer requests, out of that storage, and we clear it when you sign out.
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. We measure program results from the information in our own systems. If we ever add third-party analytics, we will update this Policy first.
9. How Long We Keep Information, and Deleting It
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the platform. You can ask us to delete your account at any time through our contact form. We will complete the deletion within 30 days. Deletion removes your personal information from our active systems, including your reflections, journals, prayer requests, and Companion conversations. Copies in backups are removed as the backups expire.
We may keep a limited set of records after deletion: payment and tax records we are required to keep, records of safety alerts for as long as needed to protect people and meet legal duties, and aggregate or de-identified information that cannot be tied to you.
10. Your Choices and Rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you;
- give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete it, as described in Section 9; or
- stop or limit certain uses of it.
Send your request through our contact form. We may need to confirm it is really you. We will respond within 30 days and we do not charge for requests. You can unsubscribe from any non-essential email using the link in that email. Residents of some states and countries have additional legal rights, and we honor valid requests under the laws that apply to you.
11. Security
We protect your information with encrypted connections, encrypted storage through our hosting and database providers, role-based access that limits each person to what Section 4 shows, and database rules that keep one person's data separate from another's. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
12. Age
The platform is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will close the account and delete the information.
13. Where Your Information Is Handled
The platform is operated from the United States. If you use it from another country, you understand that your information will be handled in the United States.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. For material changes, we will give at least 30 days' notice through the platform or by email, and we will ask you to accept the new version where the law requires. The date at the top shows when the current version took effect.
15. General
Illinois law governs this Policy, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are handled as described in Section 15 of our Terms and Conditions. If any part of this Policy is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
16. Contact Us
For questions about this Policy or to make a request, use the contact form on our website. You can also write to the Foundation.
